The Kitchen Gets A Much Needed Face-Lift + Fall Touches

Hi all! In the words of my sweet mother, ” Long time no see you”. I have been doing things around the house I just hadn’t gotten around to taking the pictures let alone updating the blog in about a month.  As you might remember, I was laid off in April. Between then and beginning a new job three weeks ago, I have only managed to do a little work in three rooms, the guest room, downstairs half bath, and the kitchen. In my opinion, not one of the rooms is what I would consider finished.

Keep in mind that the kitchen is an on-going project. It is nowhere near my dream kitchen yet. I would love to add granite countertops, tile backsplash, board and batten on the island, and white cabinets through out. I don’t know if any of you can relate, but it is like pulling teeth to get my husband to agree to a project that can dramatically change the look of either a bathroom or kitchen. He is not a risk taker in these areas. He has other amazing qualities that I need to focus on…… Love ya babe!

Anyways, back to the kitchen. I did not take any recent pictures of the kitchen but I did find some from 2011 or so. I love the color red so I have always loved having it in my kitchen which is why it made it so long without new paint.

And now with a fresher look:

We decided to stick to the lighter grey that we used for the guest bedroom to continue into the kitchen. It will also carry over to the family room. We painted the doors black and I love the way they fit right in with the appliances! I also got my Fall on! My most favoritest season ever!

I really love the yellow mustard as the accent color! I found the placemats at Target and the fabric for the curtains at Hobby Lobby.

Here are more pictures of the Fall touches:

I am planning on painting a few more doors on the lower level Black as well to tie it together. I will post the changes of the downstairs half bath soon.

Please share how you get your Fall on if it is your favoritest season too! Feel free to leave your comments below.

Thank you for stopping by!
