Hello! Halloween week has finally arrived. I’m the biggest chicken when it comes to scary anything therefore so glad all the scary shows and movies on TV are almost done!! My favorite is seeing all the neighborhood cuties decked out in their costumes. I have been so excited to write about today’s post for weeks now. I used them for our Church’s Halloween party so I wanted it to be a surprise, (in case any of my sweet neighbors are kind enough to read my blog).
Gorgeous, right? She combined two lamps and a PVC pipe to create the base. I also thought of using a floor lamp. Well, after hitting many thrift stores with no luck in either of these options, I tried the Re-Store by Habitat for Humanity. This place is a candy store for those DIYer’s who like to turn worn items into fabulous again. You can seriously find everything including the kitchen sink! The prices are ridiculously low as well. I was starting to become discouraged when I spotted a bin with stair banisters.. BINGO!
Here they are in their unfinished glory:
They were only $1.00 each!! The chandelier I found for $3.00! I “gutted” the chandelier of all its wiring before they each got a few fresh coats of Black spray paint. My hubby helped me attach the base and the chandelier onto the banister with a few long screws. Throw on a skull, a fly, beading, candles and this is what I got:
With red candle wax, I added the “Blood” to the candles and the skull.
I made two of these bad boys. Nothing like spider web to make it even creepier. For the second one, I used the chandelier I had put up in the backyard this past summer. These will be on the porch Halloween night! I will be adding a post shortly on the rest of the decor and how these guys came into play.
Thanks for stopping by! I wanted to add the Pin it button for Pinterest but can’t figure it out. I would appreciate any help.
